you dont have to go to a church to get married. In fact the legally binding marriage document is done at a town hall not at a church. So the state does define what marriage is not the church. So when you bring in religious beleifs on what marriage is, you are clouding the line. If you are upset over the word "marriage" instead of "civil union" well then that I cant even wrap my head around.

so then by that defenition if some rainbow church of christ wants to say that two same sex persons = a marriage than you are fine with it.

You talk about it being a sacred act between a man and a woman. Why dont you go protest in Vegas then where people can get married at a drive through chapel. Or get something done about the super rediculous divorce rate going on in this country. But hey if LT and his boyfriend who are deeply in love and commmited to each other, why give them the same rights as any other married couple.

again Reno I am not starting shit with you just cause it is you, I dont want you to think that. Gay marriage is a big issue for me as I have some gay friends that this directly effects.

I like this qoute I found on CNN's website. Pretty much sums up what most of the world thinks of this election.

members of the European Parliament hailed the American election results as "the beginning of the end of a six-year nightmare for the world" and gloated that they left the Bush administration "seriously weakened."

ya know whats kinda comical

liebermann won as an independent after the democrats decided not to back him and then were outraged that he would choose to run as an independant. i have a lot of respect for this man because it shows hes not all about the party. if the democrats would have backed him they could have had another seat, granted they still will as im sure liebermann will support the democrats for the most part.

I am a liberal conservative or a conservative liberal, doesn't matter which you choose to call me because there are views from both sides worth noting and putting into play.

The idea behind having both a liberal and conservative party is that neither gains too much control and they balance each other out in some fashion. Regardless of who it is, but if either party got full control of our nations policy machine we would be completely fucked and fucked hard.

It is not a black and white issue in the least, it is more a matter of whether or not the elected representatives can have their views and understand when concessions need to be made for the better of the people they work for as a whole. The day any politician forgoes their personal agenda for the better of the people I will drink a gallon of bleach.

All politicians are crooked and not one of them gives a shit once they are in office.
