Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to sit here and talk about how awesome Kerry was, but I feel that Kerry voters had reasons whereas Bush voters didn't really. I think some people just jumped on the bandwagon and others just didn't put thought into it.

Hillbillies voted for Bush, educated people voted for Kerry. Being America, we know how the story ends.

*Before people get angry, I'm not saying everying who voted for Bush is bad and vice versa. It's just that a lot of people who voted for Bush had some pretty weak and uneducated reasons.
I will hear the "plop" sound here in DE when you pull your head out of your ass.

Your view is narrow

Many people voted for Bush on the idea that he was a man of action and since the action was currently in play don't switch horses mid race. It would take longer to get a new pres up to speed on all that was going on than to keep the current one in office. It is also proven that no president has been voted out of office during a time of war, so Bush had his seat pretty much sealed in stone.

Unfortunately, the people I talked to that voted for Bush didn't sound anything like you.

Did you think why people would vote for Kerry soley because he wasn't Bush? I'll give you a clue, it's not because Bush was doing a stellar job.

Once again I'm not saying Kerry was this awesome person that we needed to have in office. Stop eating so much sugar.

Many people were swayed to vote Kerry on just that reason. Kerry obviously knew that and actually played on it in his campaign and also played up the "lesser of two evils" stance.

The past 6 years our government has been askew and getting worse...problem is there is no checks/balances between the executive branch and the legislative branches - thus violating the separation of powers. From Congress literally signing in laws without any input from the minority - democrats (sometimes giving them a false bill, then the real bill with only 12 hours to review) and inluding the 100s of riders that get stuck on a bill to pay back lobbyists. President Bush then signs away.

I'm a moderate republican and want small and fiscally responsible government but the exact opposite has happened (in fact the past 6 years we've incurred more debt than the previous 4 presidents combined!). We pay interest to China of billions of dollars a year! We've lowered taxes (majority for the wealthy and big business including the oil companies that are getting wind fall profits never seen before).

A shift in Congress is needed balance out the Bush White House. So what is the best news we've heard? Rumsfeld is finally resigning! If the Army does not want to follow him, a change is needed.

I think I'll stay out of the basement for a while, I have a feeling every thread is going to turn into this shit. I've heard it all before.
