The past 6 years our government has been askew and getting worse...problem is there is no checks/balances between the executive branch and the legislative branches - thus violating the separation of powers. From Congress literally signing in laws without any input from the minority - democrats (sometimes giving them a false bill, then the real bill with only 12 hours to review) and inluding the 100s of riders that get stuck on a bill to pay back lobbyists. President Bush then signs away.
I'm a moderate republican and want small and fiscally responsible government but the exact opposite has happened (in fact the past 6 years we've incurred more debt than the previous 4 presidents combined!). We pay interest to China of billions of dollars a year! We've lowered taxes (majority for the wealthy and big business including the oil companies that are getting wind fall profits never seen before).
A shift in Congress is needed balance out the Bush White House. So what is the best news we've heard? Rumsfeld is finally resigning! If the Army does not want to follow him, a change is needed.
