Gay rights: The government should recognize gay marriage. As much as i find it disgusting to have two men doing each other as long as they keep it behind closed doors i dont care. More tax money for the government to get from them i say. Im just more annoyed at the publicity involved with this. Most people dont care about homosexuality but, the more you put it in their face the more they will not like what they see.
I do have a question though. Who gets the kids if they divorce?? The husband? or the husband?

Healthcare: Our healthcare is a joke. Our system is based on greed. How can you put a price tag on someones life? You need a bone marrow transplant, ok we'll do it but we have to bill you 63,000k for the surgery.
Ohh wait I know you cant work after that but you will need to get a job and pay for this since our medical provider doesnt approve of this procedure.

Stem Cell research: If we can find cures for current diseases then why not.

Environment: Its already to late to fix what we have fack'd up. Just hope you have your oxygen tank ready because we are going to be the ones inhaling carbon dioxide.

War in Iraq: We should of never invaded this country since the reasons were all based on Lies. Lies from this administration. They are rotten apples that spoiled the bunch. Since we are already knee deep in this crap we cant just pull out.

gay rights isn't even about the right to plunge another dude's ass. It's about them getting the same benefits and acknowledgments as a man and wife. Also, in the case of a divorce, child custody would be decided no differently. Whoever the more fit parent is. In the US legal system it tends to be the mother, but that isn't always the case.

Sadly, I think this is how most people voted:

"Libby Kolar, a Pleasanton accountant and self-described centrist Republican, voted for Pombo's Democratic challenger, McNerney, to protest Bush's handling of the war."

They voted against the Republicans just because of Bush, not because the Democrat would be the better person for the job.

bah, stop talking about stem cell research. it was needlessly politicized.

By its very nature, government politicizes everything it touches. Science is no exception. Stem cell research needs neither government money nor politics. It is better is to get the government out and let the private sector continue its good work. Those people calling for increased funding could take out their checkbooks and support it. Those who oppose embryonic stem cell research would not be forced to pay for it.

civil union with the same benefits as marriage, then. no need to corrupt the definition of marriage.

so what is the difference between a "civil union with the same benefits as marriage" and a marriage? Sounds like people are just upset about the "title".

Meanwhile, heterosexual divorces are in excess of 50% in this country...but of course that doesn't corrupt the definition.

let's not get into a debate over this, but to a lot of people, myself included, strongly believe that marriage is and has always been a sacred institution between a man and a woman.
