I am 200lbs and even since I weighed 150 I could only bench 155... I CANT go higher then that. But everything else has increased.
For example my old workout partner, he is 5"6.. 180lbs.. short but very thick. He started the same as me, did the same routine as often as I did and now he benches (reps) 200.
However, I can pick him up and throw him rather easily, while he cant do that.
It is all relative to your weight and bench is not the best indicator of strength, but people usually use it when they are comparing their strength. I was maxing at 170 last year, but i only weigh 120 so i was over my body weight. I heard that it is considered good to bench the equivelant of your body weight.
I'm not big as far as body size but in high school when I weighed like 155 lbs I could bench 185. A couple of months ago I was lifting everyday and I got my body weight to 170 lbs and was benching 190 lbs. I am going to start hitting the gym again becuase I want to get to about 185-190 lbs solid bodyweight. Anybody have suggestions on how to supplement gaining weight besides just lifting and eating? Anybody tried weight gainer like you can buy at GNC?

I don't need to gain any weight. I actually need to lose a little bit and turn the rest into muscle....I used to be skin and bones weighing 165lbs being 6'3 thats skinny as hell..When I was together with my girl I packed on alot of weight..Now I'm at about 215lbs at 6'3 but I WANT to be about 200-205 max but just built..Should I be taking anything or just running and lifting do the trick? Any recommendations..?
Don't put too much emphasis on what other people are lifting. Each person's body works differently. When I start lifting weights, I can usually start at 180lbs - 200lbs reps no problem. But that doesn't mean someone else my weight can do the same, or can't do more.
