FAQ: Accord 6th Gen 98-02 DTCs
Of course, I should have done it to begin with.
Replacement
NOTE: Torque converter clutch solenoid valve/shift solenoid valve A assembly must be removed/replaced as an assembly.
V6:

I4:


1) Remove the bolts securing the ignition coil bracket ('98-99 models), then remove the harness cover from the transmission hanger.
2) Remove the mounting bolts and torque converter clutch solenoid valve/shift solenoid valve A.
3) Clean the mounting surface and fluid passage of the torque converter clutch solenoid valve/shift solenoid valve A, and install a new torque converter clutch solenoid valve/shift solenoid valve A with a new filter/gasket (B).
4) Install the harness cover on the transmission hanger, and install the ignition coil bracket bolts ('98-99 models).
5) Install the male terminal connector (C) of the solenoid connector on the harness cover.
6) Check the connector for rust, dirt, or oil, then reconnect the connector securely.

Is the linear solenoid the same as the TCC solenoid?
It sounds like the TCC and the lock up solenoid are different, yet by looking at the picture it illustrates that they are both the same part ( 4cyl version )
Under the battery tray on the tranny there is another solenoid which might be the TCC / Linear. Can anyone confirm this for me pls.

Find the Data Link Connector located under the dash panel on the driver's side.
Jump terminals 8 and 13 by connecting them with a wire/cable.
pins go left to right... 1-8 on top, and 9-16 on the bottom.
long flash = 10, short = 1.

Could someone post a TCS & ABS code chart listing? I've pulled the codes but I don't know what they mean. If someone wants to answer them, here they are:

My problem is with the ABS system, the ABS light is NOT on, but I check the status jump the 8 and 13 pin on DLC, the ABS light flash, it's flash give me this codes, 18, 12 and 81. The 81 is about the ABS unit, and in this treat talks about it, I think that I have to replace the ABS unit, but I still don't know what mean the 18 and 12 code.

It happen to be a problem with my Linear Solenoids.
The solenoids are located on the Transmission casing.
Got a new one off ebay. Installed in 10 Mins.. All cell codes disappeared.

Hi, I have a 1997 2.2 CL Automatic. The following Codes are currently coming on: P0171 and P0730.
I just had a used engine installed.
Old engine had 560,000 KM.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what the problem could be?

I'm trying to decipher the engine code error on my Accord 2.0iLS year 2000 (UK model) using the jumper trick across 8 and 13. Doing so gave no flashes at all. (by the way, I assume the engine isn't running for this).
I've found (I think) the DCL socket; it looks the same as others posted here, except the numbering is different. Where posts here show:

Terminals 16, 14, 7, 5 and 4 are the only ones that appear to have any copper connecting fingers, the rest look empty, so linking 8 and 13 with either format would do nothing. Can anyone offer any suggestions to find the fault code, apart from buying a proprietary piece of test gear?
