Well then it's a 40, which is lock up control system. The procedure is basically the same as it is for P0730 which is already posted in this thread. Obviously, Honda will fix it if you had the tranny fixed 1000 miles ago. Don't worry about it, just make a service appointment and let them take care of it. I'd imagine that a solenoid valve went bad, but maybe the whole tranny needs to be replaced.

Man... it's been a looooooong couple of days. I did the long=10's and short=1's for the CEL, but not the D4.

Thanks for slaping me in the back of the head and waking me up. And thanks for further explaning what the "lock up control system" meant.

I appreciate you taking the time to help!

Haha no problem. Let the dealer take care of it though, no way you should pay for this

Default 2001 Accord question

I searched around the site, so I'm sorry if I missed it.

My wife's 2001 Accord EX-V6 gave me a check engine light and a minute later the TCS light came on. I jumped the service connector as shown above, and got the following:
check engine light flashed 12 and 80
TCS light flashed 31

The engine lights are EGR related and I assume I can clean it out (I can't view the text on the posted acrobat instruction though?)
The TCS light, if I'm reading it right, says "Engine retard command (PFINH) signal" Is that related?

My friendly local Honda dealer says $86.50 to find out. Thought I'd check here first.

Thanks

I jumped my service connector in my 98 Accord 4-cyl and got codes 71, 73 and 74. Can you provide me with more information about them?

My problem is that when I'm in 4th gear (auto), the engine or transmission shutters/shakes doing 40-45mph. The shake goes away when I go faster, let off the gas pedal or force a downshift.

Thanks!

If you can't take the time to figure out what's wrong with your adobe acrobat reader then I dunno what to tell you. I have no idea about the TCS, buy a Helms or take it to the dealer.

thelarin: what don't you get about the list I posted? The answers are there and in the search button. The shake sounds like a bad torque converter but I could be wrong.

Default code 8 ???

Can someone help me with this one? The check engine light came on and after testing it it gave me a code 8 which has something to do with the top dead center sensor 1. I havent seen anyone on this board with the same code. does anyone know what this means? the car's been running fine and hasnt even hesitated. Any input would help me out a lot. Thanks

I would assume you have to replace TDC sensor #1. Maybe later I'll scan some Helms pages in.
