IMO it's much more trouble than it's worth. You're replacing a 1.5L (D15B7) motor's head out for a 1.6L (B16Y8) motor's head.

d15 aint been made in some time bro, and i do believe the ex head is a d16, b16 is DOHC and well worth the trouble, (but not possible), d16...not so much.

yea its from a 92 si hatch... not the 99-00 civic's... i wouldnt have asked the question then. well since everyone thinks this is near pointless... and not going to work... what type of hp adding bolt ons would you reccomend? besides I/H/E.

Just to clarify, you're talking about modding the DX motor, in one piece now right?
The big suggestion that I have is just to save your money and swap out. With the money you would spend on bolt ons, you would only get into the low 16s MAYBE high 15s, but that's it and it would take about $3000 worth of mods to do that. I/H/E, ignition, plugs, head work, pulley... The best bang for your buck on that motor is to get a new one. You could swap to a B16A2 for under $3000 or a B18C1 USDM for just around $3500.
Turboing that motor really isn't worth it cause the internals aren't going to handle much boost so you're wasting the potential of the turbo and you're not going to get a whole lot of HP out of it. Also, there's really no point in rebuilding the internals for the turbo cuase it's a puny motor and now you've spent WAY more than a swap.

yeah, you can turbo that for a little while, but you better be saving for a swap in the meantime...*BOOM*
you can get new pistons and rods for around 1000 bucks if you can install them yourself. then you can peice together your own turbo kit with fmic for a grand and still have money for 3 inch exhaust and those b18c1's would be seeing your tailights.

VTEC isn't all that man. It's nice and all, but you could save so much more money either doing a real swap or doing all of the super sheit to the DX head (port & polish, 3 or 5 angle valve job, port matching, new cam, new lifters, new springs, new retainers) It's really not worth the hastle you're going to put yourself through.
Trust me, I know about the slow a$$ DX motor, that's what my car is. Click my sig to see the swap I'm doing. ]:naughty:
This is just my opinion so take it as a grain of salt.
