Ahhh yea, but it'll definitely be nice to be able to tell your kids I built this house all by myself. With bubble gum, a popsicle stick and cojones of steel.

So here are the latest developments from Saturday. Took the whole day and moved all tools, materials, etc. to the basement so that I could start working on laying out cabinets, etc. on the main floor. Plus I really just wanted to get it cleaned up, because a mess just makes work take longer.

I am trying to keep this updated on a more regular basis to keep my motivation up. I am going to have the electrical inspector come this week and see if I can start putting drywall in rooms that won't have plumbing run through them. If so, drywalling will start sometime this week while waiting on the plumbing fixtures to come in.

Here is the kitchen with the cabinets, appliances, and island laid out.

New cabinet saw finally set up. Still need to get a blade for it to tune it up and dial it in, but it is awesome

Drywalling party this weekend!

Just spoke with the inspector, electrical and heating inspection is Thursday at 1, and then I will be able to start closing up all the rooms that don't have plumbing running in them. This is huge news for me, and will allow me to utilize my brother while he is in this weekend.

Now I can utilize a lot more people than I have been able to lately because the skills to do a lot of the tasks ahead are not as demanding as the previous.

Electrical and heating inspection passed with no issues. He said it was one of the best if not the best personal install he has ever seen. Makes me feel really good.

Deliveries are held up because of snow right now, but hoping it dries up enough today and tomorrow to get them in tomorrow evening or Saturday morning.

congrats on passing. feels good when an inspector that probably sees a lot of houses has compliments to say. i know it made me feel more at ease when the inspector checking my pipes said they did a really good job.

thanks, it does feel good. It reassures me that I can do this, even if most of it is just me.

Thanks to my brother, cousin, and a close friend I was able to get the ceilings drywalled in all of the rooms that don't have plumbing running through them.

Plumbing fixtures should be there today, and will be drywalling walls and finishing up the small spots on the ceilings tonight. Tomorrow evening should start the plumbing, and then should have it finished up by the weekend.
