Yeah, put in some good heads/cam/valvetrain and upgrade the block...and you have a nice displacement spinner on your hands. Although the newer DOHC modular motors rev even higher.

Yeah I always liked driving my buddy's 92 GT. Basic mods...gears, bolt ons, head and cam...was still quick.

really? I dont really deal in domestic motors that often, unless I have to work on them at work...I wasnt aware they had such a nice rod/stroke ratio.

The 302 and 327 are two of the hottest motors if you want high rpm and good hp numbers. One reason why I never will consider the 350 or the 351 unless I am looking for bottom end numbers and more raw hp.

only experience I have with the 351 is a blown/nitrous drag car built by my ex-gf father who builds race cars. He put it into the 7s so I figured it was the bees knees. I wont pretend to know what motors are good domestically. It's actually a problem for me at school because most of my instructors/classmates are all huge domestic muscle guys, and here I am subaru/honda/nissan import guy. I have learned alot about them by force, but I still dont exactly know which motors are what when it comes to the best choice for performance.

Interesting, didn't know that. I thought one of the downsides of OHV was that the valvetrain was unable to keep up as well as an OHC motor at super high RPMs.

oh no, dont second guess yourself....ohc will always rev better than ohv pushrod. I will stand by that.........but you can still make a pushrod rev pretty fairly with the right mods.

I've never seen one spin to 10k, but I've seen 8 before. I'm sure the all out drag cars rev them pretty high.
