To add to what Dub said it also is a high rev motor kind of like the Chevy 327 is to the 350. so not only can you squeeze mad power out on a budget but you can (with a lot of work) wrap that sucker up to the 10k range and not blow the piss out of it.
Interesting, didn't know that. I thought one of the downsides of OHV was that the valvetrain was unable to keep up as well as an OHC motor at super high RPMs.
