What are all of the engines that bolt directly up to a 1991 Hatch Si, with only MINOR (basically none) modifications? THANKS!

DOHC ZC. There might be more. But The ZC would be your best option.

All the popular 88-up D series, including the D16Z6 and D16Y8. Minor electrical work.

ASIMO- that has been covered on this thread already, look for anything regarding 84-87 Civic/CRX bodies. They all mount the same, carb and FI.

So, what is my best bet? with as little mods as possible. what motor would be as close to if not an exact drop in, with just some wireing. and what else would I have to change? like will I have to change fuel line? I know i need to add the ECU and do sme wireing. pleae if anyone knows a place that has some detailed instructions it would help. I have looked some on the web but not much help.

Thanks in advance.
And just curious, would the H22 fit? that would be cool.

One of my favorite posts ever, and it was only about a half page up. It's about updating the carb'd engine to FI spec, or converting to FI and an Integra/Browntop ZC swap.

From there you have two options. You could swap to a fuel injected set-up using the 12v non-CVCC head from an 85-87 CRX Si or an 86-87 Civic Si. This would also nessecitate swapping every other FI part... wiring harnesses, ECU, fuel lines, fuel tank, intake manifold, all the sensors, enough stuff to make you want to repeatedly slam your head into a brick wall. If that doesn't satisfy you, you can pull the entire engine, transaxle, axles, knuckles, and ECU in favor of a D16A1 from an 86-89 Integra or a "browntop" ZC from a EDM or JDM 1.6i-16 (their premium 3rd generation Civic chassis) or 85-88 Integra in addition to the FI swap. There are carb'ed "browntop" ZC engines out there, it is an easier swap for a carb'ed civic, however it will be very difficult to locate one.

ok i just purchased my first civic. I bought an 89 honda civic lx. I was looking at hmotorsonline.com and was thinking about doing the b16a1 swap how hard is it to do? what would I need besides the stuff that comes with this kit? it comes with motor mounts and it says everything needed for the swap. Would i be able to do it on my own? Does anyone know of a place were I can get instructions on how to do it? thinks for the help.

Default Advice please

Can I get some advice on an engine swap. Eventually (sooner than later) I want to swap out my D15A in my 87 crx si. The problem is I don't know which one....This car is my daily driver although I may get another crx and make this one a project (yet another technically it is right now). I thought about B16A, but now I see there are many more that will fit. I will not be using turbo or nitrous on any of my cars (unless I get finacial freedom) so it will be naturally aspirated. I have no need to impress noone but myself and am more (much more) considering the reliability and efficiency. Any input will be greaty appriciated!!

Update: My buddy is thinkin about getting a swap for his 94 integra, does anyone know of anyone putting a B18B1 in a Crx? Can it be done? This engine is mint and he will sell it to me cheap!!!! It would be a freggin monster! thanks!
