There are also a lot of different bolton parts that produce different results. Also some people did free mods such as grounding the knock sensor/removing balance shafts.

Racing involves control, you could have all the control in the world... but as long as I make it to the finish before you, I still win.
Allow me to rephrase.

Running from a roll has nothing to do with the driver whatsoever. It is all about the car. All the driver does from a roll is mash the pedal. Launching from a total stop is really the only time that the driver comes into play, and I happen to think wins in racing should come from the combination of a good driver AND a good car.

A good example of what I'm talking about is a chap with one of the few Z06 'Vettes around here. He brought it the track when he first got it and turned in a night of consistent low 10s -- in the 1/8.

From a roll, he's a terror -- because of his car. From a stop, he's a joke -- because of him.

Yet again you're talking out of your ass...However, there are plenty of spec V's with the QR motor dynoing 170-190 whp on boltons with matching torque not to mention a guy putting down 230 whp and over 300 wtq on just a 75 shot wet.
damn, what a grumpy old man you've become. i was just asking for either a) proof or b) some type of explanation as to why a spec v was putting down so much power with so few mods. i was assuming that you were talking about the sentra ser spec v because it's the only common spec v in the states. also, if you are gonna talk about less common engines, please say so. otherwise i will assume spec v = sentra spec v. thank you.

also...why did you say that i was again talking out of my ass? i try to stay as humble as possible and stick to what i know; not venture into pissing contests with other people on this forum (like you seem to do quite frequently).
it seems to me that you are just spraying insults to anyone that even asks you a question, which is a very uptight thing to do, and just loses you respect where you've gained it.

It's hard to compare the torque of two cars when racing, unless something like this is used. We are already observing the horsepower difference by the standard straight-line, high RPM drag. Why not compare something that we can use everyday, like low end torque? We all will occaisionally leave it in 2nd when slowing way down...

I'm not sure what kind of car you drive, twin3037, but I'd rather NOT wait for 5000 rpms to feel like I'm acclerating. This may just be a difference in opinion, but I'd rather get slammed into the back of my seat at 1800 rpm, instead of getting a slow increasing pull. That feeling can only come from something with low-end.

Maybe it's that I take a completely different view of racing. It's all in fun to me. Every car is different, and I like to see what it can do when in that sort of situation.
I'll race anybody here with an I4 (turbo or not) from a 20 roll in 3rd gear. Anybody.

Sorry... but that's just not possible (more than once). That'd be almost a full 4 second 60' consistantly. You just can't make it do that if you know which pedal goes.
I've been behind enough water tracking idiots to know this.

Actually i wasn't talking to you, i just happened to accidentily quote your reply. I was talking to Zivi who is constantly making wise ass comments about stuff he has no idea about. I have no problem with you and sorry if you thought that was aimed at you.

Just to straighten things out the spec V is the only spec V made, there's nothing close except the R34 skyline V-spec. The Spec has a QR25 (2.5L) but i was talking about the SR20VE (japanese variable timing SR20DE variant) that puts down sick power on not many mods.

Yeah but how much torque are they putting out and what does the powerband look like...150 whp from 3000-6000 and spiking to 200 at 8000 rpms? The spec has a much broader useable powerband.
