Sounds like someone who doesn't have enough money to make his car fast.

Racing is about who can get from point A to point B fastest, it doesn't matter how much money you put into it or how well the driver is. Often times you have to compromise power because more power doesn't always mean faster.

OMG, this has been discussed guys. Do we really want to make a big thing out of this all because some guy had one experience that contradicted the norm??? I know I sure don't.

Stock for stock the type S is significantly quicker than a GSR, with those bolt-ons yes he should have raped you. But driver skill is a big issue like aforementioned and hey, it could happen is what they say right?

Its annoying how a lot of GSR owners have some sort of vendeta against RSX-S owners all because Honda decided to up tha anty on its incredibly aged DC2 platform. WTF grow up all you haters. The RSX-S is a logical evolution of the Integra series and logically a car company will only try to improve a series. The new k-series engine thats a whole other story, that obliterates any B-series engine, and will likely continue to outperform any other naturally aspirated engine in its class for years to come.

Period.

I don't understand how this relates to anything I said.

Also, I'd argue that the driver's skill has a great deal to with how fast a given car gets from point A to point B ...

not really, even the old 2.0L s2000 motor owns the K series

And then you must have forgotten about nissan and a little motor called the sr20VE. There are plenty of motors n/a or FI that will beat down the KA series not to mention the other cars that compete with the RSX-S such as the spec V which commonly put down close to 200 whp and wtq with just i/h/e. I've yet to see a RSX-S make high 100 wtq on just boltons.

You said any 'jerk' can throw money into a car and make it fast, but racing 'ought' to be about the driver and how well he/she can control his/her car.

Racing involves control, you could have all the control in the world... but as long as I make it to the finish before you, I still win.

Ok let me rephrase cause you're absolutely right JKAN. I was typing irrationally and not thinking at the time. The k-series engine is and will dominate Honda's sport compacts. (hence, not S2K )

And yes the spec v may put down these numbers, but it is common knowledge the Sentra has many more problems and issues to work, out albeit the power is sufficient, before it starts to be considered a formidable opponent in the scene, and to be of par to lets say....an RSX-S.

umm....are you talking about the sentra spec-v??? that makes about 170hp at the flywheel stock, and about the same torque. with MINIMAL loss it would make it about 145-150whp and torque. you're saying that with ONLY an intake, exaust and header the whp could go up by 50??? that's sick, and i don't believe it. can you please produce me some dyno graphs that show a 25% increas in whp and torque through just intake, exaust, and header??

zivi stfu, i'm not talking about a sentra spec V, that's a QR25DE. SR20VE is a japanese variable valve timing (nissan's vtec) version of the SR20DE. People run deep into the 13's all motor with light mods.

Yet again you're talking out of your ass...However, there are plenty of spec V's with the QR motor dynoing 170-190 whp on boltons with matching torque not to mention a guy putting down 230 whp and over 300 wtq on just a 75 shot wet.
