turboing a h22a?
raise the compression to 12:1 and run it all motor. screw turbos. trust me. i have a turbo sitting in my garage that just came off my car. theyre fun but when an Integra or Civic runs low 12's all motor you'll be embarrassed when he beats your ass. it makes your car pain to drive with the turbo lag

I heard about that.Someone said he snapped the right axel? He was pushing it to with what a 12 something compression ratio? You know if he is going to rebuild it? I hope so with the moeny he dumped into it...

It was the tranny that blew up on em and they are going to either rebuild the tranny or replace it but it will be back on its feet by the time prime race season comes back around.

Thats how mine is going I will be just under 12:1 compression. All motor means constant power so no witing for turbo to spool up to get power.
Turbo on an Accord is more for cool factor than anything else unles you seriously build the engine from the bottom up....and that aint gonna happen for cheap my friend.

This is based of a Jackson Racing Supercharger on a H22...ON the Dyno make at least 235hp after modifiying the fuel and pulleys...For the buck..Sc is for the most cheaper. On a turbo to run 11's or 12's you would not only invest in, lets say for example. INtercooler,Injectors,Fuel Pump,Fuel rail,Modified Ecu or piggy back ECU,Piping (not including cost to weld)PIstons,Rings,Valve's,gaskets,TUrbo,Blow off valve,BOost controller,Clutch to go with the boost, the Gauges to see the boost and the heat that the turbo create's. but, the maintainance alone will kill you if your on a budget. You buy a SC a fuel pump, injectors some pulleys and your done. A turbo requires a little more love and care to be efficient. For the buck yea you can engineer some stuff together but, after the race should you call the towing company? To run some 11's or high 12's? I feel the money you put into a street turbo car, which by the way on a H22 with mostly factory part in the engine you MIGHT get away with a high 13 @ 15lbs of boost(factory eclipse turbo)tweeked waste gate. You will be lucky if you have a head gasket to take you home. Those H22 come off the line with like 10:1 compression /f23 9:1. You do the math. Ive played this game too long and learn to get out before your bankrupt. And for you Nighshade....I dont know you, but what ever your pulling with how turbo's are much better...One note..If its strictly a track toy then yes I would put one on. Otherwise a perfectly born NA aspirated motor like the H22...... Go all motor or maybe if you got big one's go SuperCharged. But definitely on the local streets not turbo'd..This would break your wallet. We have tested the F22 vtec block on a Eclipse turbo we barely got to the 14's at 15lbs. That thing went through more head gasket's.... Maybe this came out the wrong way, but i'm tired of the whole you can turbo anything and it will last forever concept. That doesnt exist. Not on a daily driver type car.

the h22 can handle boost with 10:0:1 compression. the shop that did my swap has a daily driver H22 turbo civic. it runs 11.8 on slicks and low 12s on street tires. it's all about tuning and do things right.

Huh? 13's for a Accord is pretty damn good. Going from 17's to 13's? Its just the fact that you took a 3,000+ pound car and made it run 13's when you see probally 50 percent of the cars are civics and tegs running the same times. But yes accords are slow, but you cant sit here and say a Accord running 13's is slow?

I am an all motor person but many of my friends are turbo nuts. I have seen both turbo as well as SC'd cars run and the long term use of each.
On a stock motor both will cause issues if not properly maintained...this is a given. Many people ask about turbo setups and have the base cost of the turbo in mind only and never even consider building the motor from the internals because "it costs too much"
so does replacing the engine when your done running. You have brought a few things to my attention that I hadn't heard before. One of these things being the head gasket issue. The reason I may not have put this in my consideration file is bcause everyone I know that have turbo'd their cars were smart enough to upgrade all of their internals before doing this, save for one person who blew a rod 3 months after the turbo install.
SC....I'm not as good with knowledge on these since most the people I have known that have run the SC have switched off to turbo...their reason and not mine is that the turbo is more efficient on the 4 banger than the SC is. Not saying its true but it is what has been drilled into me for so long you tend to accept some things after hearing them for so long I guess. My bad on that one.
Thanks for the info I will keep this in mind in any further discussions.
