When people that own civics and tegs get burned by other civics and tegs, it aint a big deal. Wow...they invested a couple more bucks and they're a little faster. However, from a civic and teg owner's point of view, losing to an accord is something they'll think about. Accord? the 3k pound family car with a mere 150 hp at the crank running 13s? i think that is very highly respectable. I attend tracks on a normal basis and out of 100 civics and tegs that go there, maybe 2 will break 13s. They all stay within the 15s and if lucky, the 14 second range. That is with major cash spent on it too. HEck, if i saw an accord at the track that ran 13s, im sure everybody there would bow down. It is not just the matter of who is faster, but the fact that you do not own a civic or a teg like everybody else in the world, but you own a damn family grocery getter with a million cubic feet of space that weighs 3k pounds, and u beat the smaller cars that weigh less, that was modded to race. I dont kno about you guys, but i personally think anything under 15s is respectable.

a GSR with i/h/e will run mid 14's. LS probably low-mid 15's. an Accord with i/h/e will run low 16's. youre comparing a fully built Accord to a basically stock Integra. my NA Integra will be faster than my turboed Accord by about 2 seconds with the same amount spent on both

a while back, i remember you telling me how you pulled on a S2000 with your accord. You dont think that's respectable for an accord? i think so.

I've got a new found respect for you Nightshade..I though you were out to get me. But anyhow..People are forgeting the power to weight ratio...This is why we all decided to do this in the first place...Mustang's and Camero's are over-rated but they boast a V8 and equal out the or a least compromise the P-W ratio. Us Accord owners have a big battle to fight...Should I go with the factory Sohc motor and power it up as much as possible and cross my finger's at the dyno or go higher displacement and be at a known power level that should at least challenge other cars in a lower weight class. From all the things that I have done since my first car a 3rd gen Accord, and I've owned just about every gen of an Accord at one point of my life is that its is not born to drag race. Its a bad ass car to rally cross or do SCCA type racing. Especially with just a stock H22 running a high compression internals. We all have to remember this thread was created by a person that just wanted to know how he could turbo his Accord and what is the ups and downs to this. With all due respect to the thread creator....Dude the best teacher in your life is experience....I can't tell you what is the best thing, I can only tell you want i've been through. You need to get technical with it learn both motors see what are the threseholds of them and what you can do to make them at most effiecient to create the power you need to challenge your opponents.You just might prove us all wrong. And if you do, then let us all know about it....
You might not remember that one guy on the Nira circuit that took his Sohc 1.6 Si civic motor and ran 11's with it, hell I forgot his name but, he took that motor smack some carb's on that motor replaced the electronic system in it and some internal work to the motor and proved the whole circuit wrong that you don't need all the techie stuff to make it happen. Just trial and error.

Apples and oranges so the point is moot...give it up already I do not want a Civ or a Teg but when the time comes I will buy one and simply take this engine and put it into the Civ or Teg that I do choose.

Your in the accord forum and arguing the advantages of a Civ and Teg to someone who really could care less about them at this point since if I wanted one I would have bought one.

F23A4_AcCoRdude said it best in his post so refer to that post as being the prime motivation for the 13 second Accord project I am currently involved in.
