Automatic "technique"??
Almost all my friends with autos shift like this. I have one with an auto 5.0 (I know, Ford) and it sounds like a stick when he's driving it just because he knows his shift times. It could be faster mainly because autos tend to stick in the same gear instead of shifting, letting of the gas just helps it slide in better, I guess :dunno:
