Default shifting technique

I am just wondering, when shifting, if i step on the gas while pushing in the cluch and then shift. is that good to the car?

You need to apply a small amount of gas before you completely drop the clutch or you will get a jerk. Yes, eventually your friction plate will wear down, but not for a while. Just make sure you don't ride the clutch or let it slip for a long time.

is double clutching good for 98 civic ex, is it neccessary? would it help?

what you explained is power shifting,..its not worth it to power shift since it really only takes off a tenth of a second of your 1/4,..and it puts alot of stress on your clutch and tranny

and double clutching is not neccessary since your tranny utilizes syncros
