OMG....some dude actually approached me today and asked me to check out this club he's in at CSUF. He asked me this question too.....

I believe that I personally don't give a shiet how we got here. All that matters is that we are here now and we fucked ourselves pretty bad with the planet. The next thing we can do is be a lot more responsible with what we have left in terms of resources.

Purpose of life? Geez...how about I get my ass to a level where I would make enough money to support the activities that I enjoy and spend time with the people I love. I am not going to sit around and think about what the purpose of life is. Here's a concept....how about we live life? Don't you feel better when you achieve your goals? Set one up and do it. Why bother thinking if it's something you meant to do or not. We set our own destinies. At least that's the way I see it.

God? I do believe in a supreme being that created us all. Does that mean that I will follow the rules of the church? Hell no. I believe I was given free will to choose my own future. I was given the freedom to choose wether to live as a jerk, or live a life where I would be happy and treat others with respect.

edit: I believe if anyone "created" peopel, it wasn't any god. I'm sorta into the idea that this planet was "seeded", if you will by extra-terrestrials. I mean, all of a sudden, the spark of life. Anyone see Mission to Mars? That part made me feel better since there are other crazies like me around

yeah... like in that movie and show Stargate. The egyptians thought that Go'uld aliens were their gods. There was one called Ra, and Osiris, and whatnot. Just relating entertainment to real possibilities. Aliens = gods? cool stuff. I'd always considered that a dirivitive (sp?) of the aliens seeding the planet theory, people saw them coming back or some such stuff, or evidence of them being there was left, and people assumed it was a deity of some sort. Or what if gods just meant to ancient civilizations, "beings not of this world" :dunno: but it's somethin to think about.

 

What the creationalist's are forgetting to mention is FAITH. You can poke holes and argue all you want but when it comes down to it, it's what you beleive in your heart that matters. I have faith that God exists and that's enough for me. I don't follow evolution because I believe that we were created by God. It is my faith that God exists that allows me to believe this.

Wrong. Muslims definately think they believe in the same god as christian faiths, but they don't. Their are huge fundamental differences between the two. Muslims believe in Ala, and chritians believe in Jehovah...their different, no matter what muslin propoganda you read...

 

That is true, actually. We are much taller nowadays than then. From what I read it's because the ozone is slowly deteriorating and resulting in lower atmospheric pressure, allowing us to grow higher, but at the same time live shorter lives.

Let's say there are two worlds. Earth and Myrth. Earth has a low atmospheric pressure; Myrth a high one. Earthlings would be taller, but live shorter lives, but not drastically shorter lives. Myrthlings would be shorter, but live longer lives.
