That is true, actually. We are much taller nowadays than then. From what I read it's because the ozone is slowly deteriorating and resulting in lower atmospheric pressure, allowing us to grow higher, but at the same time live shorter lives.

Let's say there are two worlds. Earth and Myrth. Earth has a low atmospheric pressure; Myrth a high one. Earthlings would be taller, but live shorter lives, but not drastically shorter lives. Myrthlings would be shorter, but live longer lives.
