Someone brakes into your house in the dead of night the first thing going through your mind will not be "it's just a tv". It's fear, fear that you will be injured or killed. Invading someones house is the same as threatening their safety. I will not shoot someone for theft but I will shoot someone if they are a threat. If you brake into my house I have every right to assume you are a threat.

Don't worry.. I know.. but the sad fact is that some people see it that way. Honestly.. someone tries to break into my apt and steal my shit, if they have no intent on harming me. Dude.. have fun. Shit can be replaced no matter how much it costs. Even on the extremely off chance I had a gun as "insurance".. I'd scare them with it first if they're unarmed. This going in.. guns a blazing attitude is fucking scary, imo. Shoot first ask questions later? What? If they're not threatening your life or the life of a loved one... there's no reason to take theirs.

I'm not arguing the fact that every home owner has a right to protect themselves and their family. At all. I may not be for guns at all.. but that's my own belief. I have no right to tell my neighbor what to do when it comes to the safety of his or her family. I'm arguing the effectiveness of a gun in the hands of someone scared. I mean look at it this way.. A kid sneaks out of his house to go meet up with his or her friends with out wanting mom and dad to know. Dad's a gun nut. Kid gets wasted and forgets keys and tries to break into his own house. It's dark. Dad hears noises.. senses a threat and grabs his gun. BAM Dad shoots to kill "intruder".
Asses the situation first. That's all.

Two in the chest will do just fine to stop an intruder. There is no need to empty all your rounds into him.
