FWIW, I've already stated that I'd shoot to stop. Whether it takes zero shots or all of them. I'd rather not have to take a shot at all but if someone is in my house illegally and they pose a threat to me or my family, it's us over them.

It's dark. Dad hears noises.. senses a threat and grabs his gun. BAM Dad shoots to kill "intruder".
