there's two versions of the syncromesh stuff. friction modified and friction modifier.

im gonna try the friction modified version when i get around to changing my axles and the trans fluid. stupid 3rd gear grinds above 3K rpm at anything more than 50% throttle.

3rd gear feels like it's engaged sometimes, but it's really not...it's like it has two notches, the first of which appears to be in gear when it's actually not all the way. If that makes any sense. :a:

I have no first hand experience with Amsoil or the new Si but from what I've read one of the problems was the thickness of the Honda MTF. It's apparently now thinner (how much, etc. I dunno).
I'm also not sure if it was just too thick for the new cars or if it had been thinner in the past and was just being produced incorrectly.

I'm still debating whether to put mobil synthetic 10w30, amsoil, or honda mtf in my '92 trans. Perhaps I should start with the price of the Honda MTF (plus shipping:boink: )

that shit is nasty IMO
I've heard that pennzoil is bad for "small engines" I dunno why or anything... though I assume b/c less oil increases the chances of higher operating temps... I would think
All I know is it looks worse going in than most do coming out and that's reason enough for me to stay away.
