I didn't notice any difference between GM Syncromesh and Honda MTF.

I've heard the GM stuff was good from many heads. I have a 92 Si, and don't like the short gears in my tranny. I'm thinking of switching to a dx lx 5-speed, or just have the 5th gear changed out from one for a better highway gear. If I find one in good working order, is there a proper way to get all of the previous tranny fluid out? Is there a flush, or just let it hang to the ground for as long as possible?
i have a buyer ready for your si trans if you're really serious. he has a dx trans too. Los angeles ftw

I use Redline MTL for mine. Not great when cold since the gears stick (esp. 5th) but they're great on the track.

Grinds from 1st to 2nd, especially at higher rpms. And third gear doesn't always go in all the way. It seems like it's in gear but then it pops back out sometimes. Very common issues from what I've read. Supposedly it's partly because the tranny fluid is overfilled.
