oh, how about the fact that there were over 24 MILLION military deaths, and over 32 MILLION civilian deaths (excluding holocaust victims).

in iraq, however, we have to pussyfoot around everything lest we feel the mighty wrath from everyone opposed to this war. and the casualties? a drop in the bucket compared to WW2.

in other words, stop comparing apples and oranges.

Thank you.

If we were able to use our full military might and were truly fighting "Iraq" instead of "Saddam Hussein's Regime" and now "Insurgents/Terrorists", it would have taken us about 15 minutes to turn the country into a thousand year glass factory with zero US casualties.

Yes but he easily had two more years in europe before his eyes even looked at the N Americas or S America. His army was also feeling the pains of a long standing war before we entered with morale dropping and supplies hurting a bit due to the greed of the higher commanders.

So whether he could have sustained another two to three years and then another overseas battle in the Americas is very questionable.

The downfall to that is the world community would have turned it's back on us for being the power mad nuke dropping country we so admantly speak against. In turn it would have opened us up to multiple attacks from any country that wanted a piece of us.

Plus the fact that the Soviets were deafating the Germans even before we landed in Normandy. Likely, if we had never entered, it would have been a long stalemate between the USSR and Germany and then an eventual ceasefire in Eastern Europe.

Of course, but we were never fighting "Iraq" so it's a null point.

i would say more than two years in europe...south would have been the next stop as we saw, and it would have been smarter if he just continued that way.

morale was slipping, but i believe he would have been able to continue...fear is a powerful motivator as well. and his troops knew what happened when they didnt do what they were told.

As for russia, i dont think they would have been a viable opponent without the entry of the US. Germany was pushing very strongly at the russians and they gained their most ground once the US enterend and took pressure off of the eastern front
