Car stolen
if we're willing to admit that a thief will take whatever they want ... why are we arguing on spending more money on a car that's bound to be stolen? I'm not sure where your Sentra was taken, but if it's considered your neighborhood, I wouldn't consider a more expensive car.
I'd find other ways to be satisfied in life, not in something that could be gone in the blink of an eye.

i say get wahtever you want, if you spend the rest of your life afraid somebody might steal your car, you might as well get yourself a good pair of shoes and a bus pass so you dont have a car to be stolen.
and just a tip for you when dealing with insurance, if you put ANY money into your car for stuff like brakes, tires, stereo, etc give the receipts to your insurance company and they will compensate you accordingly. worked wonders for me with my gs-r i got an extra few hundred bucks for basic repairs i had made.

I have receipts from the radio..the install...but what sucks...is all the maintenance receipts for like oil changes and stuff are in the car.
Right now...i honestly hope they dont find the car because from my understanding...if they find it beat up...and it needs replacement parts and they total it then they are going to give me what it's worth minus how much damage was done...i might be wrong...but that's just the assumption i got. But right now KBB is 8k for my car. Im hoping i get a little more then that. I have the loan for 10k...been paying since november at 228. So 228 x 5 = 1140....so if push comes to shove...i'll prolly be out 560(the extra 500 comes from my 500 dollar deductable) Im hoping that is the case because i can live with 560 instead of 3k+

but when i flipped my car, i had just done timing belt, rear brakes, couple other minor stuffs and they compensated me for the full value of my receipts since it was within a certain time period.

I've heard of insurance companies not refunding the cost of anything "aftermarket", even with documentation. Part of the insurance agreement is to pay for the car as registered. By adding extra parts, you essentially change the trim level and up the insurance rates.
(ex, modifying a Civic DX with all EX parts and engine ... on paper it's a DX, on the street is an EX)
my friend decided to report his modifications to the insurance company thinking they'd adjust his premium ... they denied his coverage claiming the car isn't what was on the agreement.
