i say get wahtever you want, if you spend the rest of your life afraid somebody might steal your car, you might as well get yourself a good pair of shoes and a bus pass so you dont have a car to be stolen.

and just a tip for you when dealing with insurance, if you put ANY money into your car for stuff like brakes, tires, stereo, etc give the receipts to your insurance company and they will compensate you accordingly. worked wonders for me with my gs-r i got an extra few hundred bucks for basic repairs i had made.
