Okay, what's your point Andrew? That was grade school. I moved from a school in a town of 1400 with no minorities for miles to a school in downtown Syracuse with a black population of 65% when I was 12. I can't tell you how many times I got called cracker or got put down because of my race. Am I bitter? Why would I be? It was in grade school. I looked different from what most kids looked like, why wouldn't they make fun of me?

I think it's pretty narrow minded for you to tell me that I don't have anything in common with minorities. I was best friends with an asian kid for almost 5 years and I was best friends with a black kid my freshman year of college. Maybe you feel that way because you had an especially hard life or something, I don't know, but where I'm from race is very rarely an issue unless the person is racist and refuses to hang out with white kids or black kids or whatever.

yes I am, I grew up in chinatown san francisco btw, and my opinion might be biosed since I only been to west side/east side of us.

 

The Chinese got it horrible...they were typically the ones planting the dynamite in the rock wall faces with no safety ropes, got paid nothing, and slept in the mud. They got mistreated pretty badly

Listen, I'd be offended if I hardly know those 'co-workers' but I wouldn't get mad. I'd be offended but won't lose any sleep over it unless it was directed to me.

 

Meh ...I wouldn't go that far. My ancestors faced persecution when they came to this country being Irish. There were help wanted signs that said bluntly "No Micks" and they meant it as firmly as the "No Colored" signs found in the south.

They were starved by the Brits and treated like dogs for years before it finally ended and much like asians the only job they could take were either building a railroad, or walking the high line on skyscrapers which was a high risk job on both counts.

Blanket statements are generic and I understand what you meant but that statement is incorrect as it stands.
