Also, I think a lot of you don't grasp the difference betwen 'inappropriate' and 'racist'. Is it inappropriate to say things like that in an office? Absolutely, noone in their right mind would condone it. Is it racist? I don't think it is at all. Just people being people.

anyone remember that story of the new york rap radio station making joke song of the big tsunami that hit last year using derrogatory comments like 'chinks getting washed away by the floods' and other stuff like that.
then the hurricane hits in new orleans with a big black population. what if an asian radio station makes a joke song about the incident in new orleans using words like '******s' got washed away, should have seen it coming.
point is, racism is alive and going strong, and will continue to go on as long as people from different regions of the earth identify themselves under kingdoms of different kings on this fleeting planet we call earth. it's so sad to see. only one man is ever capable of being a savior and bringing unification among all men and women.

Since this is an unfortunate fact of life, it can be eliminated from the work environment. Last thing I wanna do is go to work and hear someone using any racist term regardless of how it is meant.
I am not going to lie I have probably used a lot more derogatory terms than I care to list. I am not racist though and admittedly they were used in ignorance. That is al it is in the end is ignorance and xenophobia, and the more you can isolate and make a person or race to be less human the easier it is to hate a group, these terms help to accomplish this and it works a little bit at a time.
If a person hears the term enough then when it comes down to it you can simply say, "oh it's ok it's just one of those (insert racist term) they don't count".

I once wrote a paper on the immortal existence of prejiduces and racism. I have a strong belief that it will never, ever, end. I find it hilarious that people still get offended by comments and depictions of things that are so insignificant (this is my opinion). Words are words, let it ride. But when it comes to physical violence and discrimination, thats where a line is drawn. Call me a honkey, cracker, peckerwood, hillbilly, redneck, I just dont give a fuck. It doesnt change my day to day activities with work and school and boneage of chicks.
