I can remember taking my cousin to the welfare office and being shocked, that it was more white people in there than blacks and Hispanics..

This thread has turned into my SOC 241 - Racism class.... I used to have to listen to the black kids fight with the white kids that really cared... I just got to sit in the back and laugh at all the dumb ass arguments... i got an A

 

A lot of that has to do with where that office was located...


but anyway, am I the only here that believes context matters? I would never just blurt out something like that without knowing that my audience KNOWS ME and knows that I'm actually not a racist at all. I wouldn't want anyone to hear me and assume I hate anybody else when in reality I don't arbitrarily hate others based on race.

Most white people such as myself wont be offended by being called "honkey" or "cracker" because its not really derogatory. I mean, when in history have these terms ever been used against white people in a manner that makes us feel less than human? I would argue never. Those of hispanic or asian decent can definitely argue that the slang terms for their races have been used to humiliate them and make them feel like less of a human.

 

i dont give a fuck about who thinks people are "sensitive" these days. they can call me a sensitive fag for all i care. if someone were to ever say anything remotely racially derogatory to me, and they are not a personal friend of mine, i will beat the living shit out of them. theres a place and time for everything. the workplace especially is not the place to "fuck around" and joke about derogatory racial remarks. i dont care if its intended to be done in humor. thats some poor taste.

outside of work, if i hear that spoken to me, i will murder you. and to all those bitches that say/think "geez, calm down, why kill someone and go to jail for something like that?" kiss my ass. jail or not, you aint the one going so if i dont give a shit, you shouldnt either.

 

theres this hispanic guy at work who calls me different names daily..

from china man, william hung, Ko-re-A, etc.. to some made up "thing".. it changes daily. i realize people are ignorant, so it doesnt bother me.
