To guy who leaves his car in gear on jackstands: The flywheel is new.
Not neccessarily. If it hasn't completely funked the bed it'll still be quasi operational.

I still don't think it's the crank. The engine would be an unhappy camper and would be making some ugly noises at any RPM, idle, underload, anything.

And you wouldn't have any issues with depressing the clutch.

If the ms would go would the car jerk? When this happened, the car jerked hard and went from ~45 to 25 and stalled.

Unsurfaced flywheel and the car would vibrate like a bastard under load, but you'd still be able to depress the clutch without an issue.

The difficulty depressing the clutch just screams master cylinder (or possibly slave) cylinder failure. Or the pressure plate popped a spring.

This is a little off topic but could a poorly shimmed FD ring gear cause a huge amount of transmission free play that is getting worse and makes the car drive like a jerky piece of shit? I mean it's like a third turn when the car is on the lift. Very annoying.

Yeah I guess it's possible if it was bad enough, although I've never seen that happen

Clutch fluid levels okay?

I was thinking it was one of the cylinders but the garage tested the system and everything checked out. Seeing how the pressure plate is new, I don't see that being a real possibility. Plus, it was doing that before the new clutch. Thanks for all the help though.
