i did some "accelerated rehabilitation" thing to get the misdemeanors off my record. that involved a year probation and 100 hours community service. but i did have to go to court twice, and spoke with a prosecutor and all.

i say criminal record... here you have to ask for a pardon after 4 years. If granted it still stays in your govermental file and could cause problems like if he is looking to become a cop, or a goverment worker in casinos and shit like that.

When i got locked up for stealing i pleaded guilty and opted to pay a $150 court fee and then i had to do 24 hours of community service and that was taken off my record.

this male neighbor of my sister's shoplifted from target a few yrs ago.. a stupid cd. they followed him and caught him as he left.. he even knew they were after him., too stupid to put the thing down. he had never shop lifted either. he was repeatedly billed the fee from target.. he got a lawyer so he didnt have to pay the target fee. im not sure how it turned out, i dont think he had to do any time or community service but it does stay on your record.. the school his daughter goes to did a background check on all parents that participate in school activities its the law.. his target shoplifting thing came up.. the law varies depending on the amount of property stolen.. if its under $500 there r different charges, if its over it can be a felony..in some states criminal records r sealed if u r under 18, so that shouldnt be a problem if he tries to get federal student loans/aid for college..dumb thing to do..

hmmm....you sure it wasnt you that stole it?
You seem very worried for "your friend"

if he doesnt pay that fine then target could take him to court.
If he pays the fine he should be court free.

i don't get people who say they'll kill someone for trying to steal their car. i love my car, but no car is worth someone's life. if you kill someone trying to steal your car you are going to jail for a very long time.

it is YOUR car, but in the end it's just a car...metal, plastic and rubber...

Apparently SP00NFed never made a mistake in his life

and i agree whoever feel it is ok to take someones life just because he tried to steal your material possessions need to set their priorities straight.
