But as your body gets older and your lifestyle changes so does muscles of the body. I know my turning point was 25 years old. My metabolism definitely slowed down, but now I don't eat as much either.
I know when I was younger I could wake up and just go running. Now I need about an hour to get moving in the morning

pssh, im only 20 and i still need an hour or so to get going in the morning
h:besides age being a factor, it's very easy for one to cause stress on a muscle when theyre stretching...because it's tight and flexed when you're stretching, all it takes it the smallest wrong movement to mess something up.

Keep babying it and using the ice and heat. If it doesnt get any better by Tuesday, hit up a massage therapist for a localized massage
Yeah, old man. I stretched out my back and neck muscles in the accident. Put a heat pad on it (moist heat). Once the pain is gone stretch it gently and hold for 10 seconds and put more heat on. And get the Misses to massage it during this process. Do this and it'll go away and you'll be like whoaaaa nice.

2nd part of your message is very true. You are using muscles to stretch and at the same time making them tight = almost like pulling a muscle.

Yeah. It feels good first thing in the morning. And it's good for your muscles if you do it right.
I was just trying to say that sucks, but here's the reason why.
Anyone ever wake up and your arms and hands don't work right away? It's only happened to me like once or twice, but I would wake up and I would have to flop my arms around for a little bit to get some blood to flow to em.
