Default argh!

i was just going to send a letter (pre-made by planned parenthood, i just signed up for their action team) to my states senators to prevent a particular person from being renominated because of his views on women, but i just remembered that both of my state senators are conservative republicans, and they both just voted for the partial birth abortion ban.

i'll send the letter anyway, but i doubt it will be good.

hmm, maybe he'll write back and say something nasty.

i did

if any of you guys care (which, maybe you do), try and support planned parenthood. they need it right now with the partial birth abortion ban. its a shame because they made it sound so much worse than it is.

because now if i get pregnant, and 4 months into my pregnancy i find out that if i give birth, my child will die and i will die, then either we'll die or i'll have to go to canada.

they just banned partial birth abortion. clinton had rejected it several times for not including regulations on whether it was medically necessary or not, but bush encouraged them to do it.

partial birth abortion is where abortion is performed after the frist trimester (3 months and on), where the fetus is partially delivered and then it is aborted (its rather nasty, i won't get into details). it isn't used much, but when it is used it is usually because there are complications in the pregnancy, and could cause serious damage to the mother as well as the child.

i would never get one unless it was needed, but the problem here is that this is the beginning of the road of the end of abortion. i'm a firm believer in using birth control, so i will hopefully never need to get one, but the same people who want to get rid of abortion also believe that abstinence only education is the only way to prevent unwanted pregnancy (which statistics show only increases unwanted pregnancy). bush has elected at least one person into office that refuses to give out birth control to single women. and we don't want people like that making abortion laws.

Amen. The issue of abortion was decided in Roe v. Wade, period. A woman's right to choose is none of the state's business IMO.

Thanks for the info.
In regards to your last comments I totally agree with you that there are other contraceptives that can be used for birth control. It seems to me that abortion is an easy way out for the mother. Although I am hesitent to say that since there are women that are raped. But if you have sex then you are old enough to face the consequences of your actions. Plus there are many family's out there who can't have children and would be wonderful Dad and Mom's to these kids. Anyway's enough of me rambling.

i think that abortion should only used as a last result, but there's no way to make a law for that. but because we have morons running our country, teenagers aren't getting good sex education (which means understanding birth control, having the ability to use it, and how to avoid pregnancy). i think if the sex education was better, abortion rates would go down. i remember a girl in high school who had an abortion several times because she was too lazy to use protection, which irritated the hell out of me. but abortion is needed in many cases, and to ban it would be one very large problem.

Pro Choice..... however my mommy choose life.... and I'm glad she did.

But I agree, if there's a way we can detect a problem but not have a solution... then what good is the ability to detect a problem. It's like having air bags with no impact sensors.

Well, I believe in the womens right to choose.
I also believe murder is illegal.

Partial Birth Abortions should be illegal, no doubt.

Abortions which are completed within the first 2 months of pregnancy, should be *legal*, simply because the baby has yet to form a brain stem and working organs at that point; which to me, means it's not a "human" yet.

After 2 months, all those things exist and therefor must be treated as a human with rights.

That's my 0.02.

If you are 3 months pregnant, sorry life sucks - give it up for adoption. Your bad choice to have unprotected sex and not pay attention to your late menstral cycle should not kill a developed human being.

Flamesuit is on.
