Although I don't believe abortion should be an option, but it is and I can't stop that. Moving on, out of curiousity what would you do for helping the sex education program? I find it hard to believe that if you sat teenagers down and made them sit through a class that it wouldn't do anything. Unfortunatly most teenagers learn about sex from the media and also other friends and peers which don't have the knowledge. I personally feel that its the parents sole responsibility to teach the child about sex and its safe sex options. So in a sense I agree that we need better education but.....I don't know. Its frustrating.
it should be the parents job, but they usually don't do it, especially if they don't want their children having premarital sex. but stats show that children who are educated abstinence-only are much more likely (i think it was like 60%, but don't mark me on that) to get pregnant because they are less likely to be using any form of birth control (not to mention those who made a pact to save themselves, an extremely large percentage broke it).

birth control (well, condoms in particular), should be given out at schools. there should be school seminars on forms of BC (hey, they did it with drugs and guns) explaining different forms and how to get them.

thats why i love planned parenthood so much. they give you so many options before you even get to the point where you need an abortion, and a teenager who is afraid of the repercussions from their parents don't have to worry about it.

oy.. a partial birth abortion's purpose is NOT to save a woman if she is at risk of dying while giving birth. in fact, if she is at risk of dying by giving birth, just aborting the baby is NOT ENOUGH. other procedures are what will save her. if those procedures result in the death of the baby, so be it. but don't use this as an excuse to legalize partial birth abortions.

>99.9% of abortions (including partial) are performed on mothers that will otherwise have no troubles while giving birth. this is a FACT. these are the same mothers who should have been responsible and are now looking for the easy way out. these are not from rape, incest, etc.

please don't fall prey to the propaganda.

Funny that you mention being taught abtstinence is best. With the beliefs that I have I was taught those same ideas. It worked for me but for close friends of mine that had the same beliefs as I do found themselves having sex.

I wish parents would take responsibility and teach there kids. Although schools I think for the most part try to help, but with parents threating to sue for teaching there kid about a touchy subject is just ridiculous in my mind. The parents most likely won't even say anything to there kid about sex.. :dunno:

no no no! abstinence is not best! i mean, if you aren't going to have sex, you're not going to have sex. but if you aren't, you should learn to be prepared.

parents should teach their kids, but it still won't happen. but they won't let the school teach them either because they think that will encourage them. its a catch 22 really.

thanks everyone for their opinions. like i said before, i don't like partial birth abortion, but the problem is that the same people who are voting for this want to ban abortion alltogether, plus they rely on ideas as absitence-only, no birth control. hopefully it won't lead to that, but it probably will.

What if you run the risk of loosing your wife AND your unborn child because the pregnency is too dangerous?

Under the right circumstances.. partial birth abortions should be allowed..
But deffinatly NOT because the mom to be said "**** it! Don't want it anymore!"
