Yeah plenty of coolant!! In fact I thought that was the problem my self. I'll try the thermostat today and see if that fixes it. The thing is though...my fan still never comes on when it gets to that point of being hot!! It should kick on before it gets all the way in the red at least!! Then if I turn my A/C on, it turns BOTH fans on instead of just the one!!! I think my real problem is my fans for some reason.

Boil a pot of water on the stove and put the thermostat in it and if it opens it should be good. Or go buy one from Advanced for $15, and see if it works, if not you have a new thermostat lol.

It's not 15 bucks, I found out the hard way. They had the wrong thermostat listed in their system and had to call up Honda in order to get a part number and have it shipped.

The fan itself doesn't provide that much cooling. I had a fan NEVER coming on and all it affected was the A/C. The thermostat is most likely your problem.

I bought mine from advanced for like $12.55 or some crap and works just like any other thermostat. Hmm maybe I got lucky who knows haha

from what i can tell off of the wiring diagram. the ac does turn on the radiator fan, so that is normal. if you are positive of no leaks. try replacing the radiator fan switch. its on the thermostat housing. that is the only other thing in the circuit that has an affect on when the fan comes on.

fyi- i had a civic in this morning with an over heat problem. fan wasnt coming on. fan blew the 20amp fuse. but you said theyre all good so i beleive you

i dont think its your t-stat! if your fan is not coming on when the engine is over heating that is probably your problem. the fan MUST come on when the engine reaches certain temp. t-stat does not affect fan operation unless, it is stuck open and the engine doesnt reach normal op temp or hotter so fan doesnt come on

The car does not need both of the fans to work in order to stay cool. Trust me. I JUST (2 weeks ago) had a problem very simliar to this. Both my thermostat and the larger radiator fan were shot. I replaced the thermostat without replacing the fan motor and the car stopped over heating. I had the radiator fan motor replaced a week later.

if the coolant is full and the thermostat is good (both radiator hoses getting hot) then try replaceing the fan switch it's on the thermostat housing unplug it and short the plug with a paperclip turn the key to the on position if the fans run replace the switch.
