97 Lude over heating!!!! Help
Hey fellas, I'm having a little problem here with my girls 97 prelude. For whatever reason, the E fans won't kick on when this thing is getting hot. I mean it was all the way in the red and I had to kick the heater on full blast to get it down. This was while it was 90+ degrees out here
The one thing that I have noticed was that the E fans will only kick on during the use of the A/C. So my question is WHY?? What would cause my A/C to be able to kick on my fans and not have the overheating temperature kick it on??? Is there a temp sensor that I'm not aware of?? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks
Nick

Could be multiple problems,
Coolant Temp Sensor, Fan Switch....I suggest you don't drive the car until this problem is fixed, you don't want to warp the head.
EDIT: Thermostat should be good, since you stated that when you turned the heat on it cooled off.

there is 2 fans. one is a radiator fan (turns on only when the engine reaches a preset temp usually 215 or so) the second fan is for the ac condensor (turns on only when the ac is on). the radiator fan is controlled by the computor. there is a relay and a fuse in the circuit. its fuse #47 and it is a 20amp. check the fuse. if the fuse is good, try and power the fan with a 12v supply @ the fan itself. does it only over heat at idle or does it over heat when you drive?
