Default engine overheats with turbo going uphill

a new turbo has just been installed on my stock engine... the a/c lines were bent ... the filter pipe of the turbo is touching the radiator hose, the stock oil cooler was removed and the fan was tapped into for it to turn on after the car shuts off... this is a 94 accord ex

when i drive uphill the temp needles goes to half and when i'm back on flat surface it goes back to normal... would it be a time to upgrade to a new radiator and a new oil cooler??? would that solve my over heating problem?? right now I'm using 5w30 synthetic oil ...so would 10w40 help my overheating??

Hmm.....where's the stock oil cooler your talking about? That's cool, I never saw one on the F22s, I know there's an oil cooler for the H22s though, its like on the filter base. But maybe you need a bigger radiator. Like a fluidyne or something, and it might not hurt to run a bit thicker oil like 10w30 probably will withstand the turbo better. I remember one of my friends that turboed his lude, used 10w50 I think. I would try that first, them maybe get an aftermarket oil cooler installed if that stuff fails.

Just wondering is yours an auto or 5spd? That turbo would probably be hell on the tranny if you have an auto, hehe.

unless you live somewhere where the temperature drops below freezing on a regular basis, or you're running a brand new engine, 5w30 is too thin. 10w40 or 15w50 is probably a better choice, especially with a turbo... synthetic of course.

i didn't think 5th gens came with oil coolers... i own one and i've never seen one on my car.

F-Max and Drag make kits readily available in the U.S.

HKS and GReddy (Trust) make kits for the F22/F23

Try to get that filter pipe not to touch the upper coolant hose. As innocent as it looks, that pipe can get hot enough to make a difference in coolant temps.
