I dont no much about the engine codes or nothing on honda's but i have an 89 crx-hf, and a 1.6 v-tech engine out of a 94 civic hatch, what will i need for the swap

 

say i bring a complete b18a changeover kit from hmotors along with a rolling 86 crx to a shop...will i need those hasport mounts? also, how does the exhaust setup work? will i need a new exhaust?

 

you will need the mounts and depending on the rolling crx chassis a lot of wiring (si will have efi and will be simpler to wire, where dx and hf had carburetors)...as for the exhaust i'm not too sure but most likely have to have a mid pipe fabricated to fit to the stock exhaust (which i'd replace with a better flowing catback)

 

what do i have to do to get a d16a1 into a 91 crx hf. i hooked up my hf transmission to it and the starter wont reach the flywheel. do u think the si transimission will work or what will i have to do about that.

What would be the best, and easiest, swap for a ’91 CRX Si? The engine will need to be ‘91+ and USDM because of California emission laws. Preferably something DOHC, VTEC would be nice too. Also, where could I find this engine, and what all extras will I need? I'm looking to spend no more than 2.5k.

 

Easiest? D16Z6. Bolts in with minor electronics work.

Best? B18C1. Bolts in like any other B with a few extra wires for the dual stage intake manifold. That's way over $2500 though.

 

With all this talk about what will go in a CRX and w/e ppl think up. Exactly how big is the engine bay of the CRX?
Also did ne of u c the 650hp GSR in Hot Compact Import's magazine acouple months ago? Wouldn't that be hot if it were in a CRX?:yes:
