Rear Disc Conversion

i still wouldn't want to switch out the tegs e brake cable for a crx one...i'd rather leave it to oem honda...the teg cables are only slightly longer and with a creative mind when running them back to the passenger compartment the slack can be easily be disguised w/o having the extra step of finding a crx e-brake cable and all the extra work of drilling
i used to have a 91 crx si until it got totalled (someone rearended me...R.I.P..:crying: ) Now i have an 89 crx si w/out the rear disc. when i first got it i was soo hyped about doing the drum/disc conversion. but since i have been driving it for a few months now, i see no need for it. This one stops just as well as the old one. The crx is so light that you dont need the extra stopping power; unless you just like to say that you have 4-wheel disc...which i would like but i cant see wasting my money on it. take this advice as you will....just my 2 pennies.

Rear Disc Brake Swap
Advantages:
looks better than drums
brake proportioning easier to adjust (racing advantage)
reduces brake dive
Disadvantages:
heavier than drum setup
greater rotational interia due to rear discs (slows acceleration a little)
for a normal road car upgrading the front brakes will be much more effective

For a stock CRX or Civic sure. But the more power you get the more you will want braking, and tons of braking in the front and little in the back isn't going to be good for handling. Discs are more resistant to fade and cool down easier since they are exposed.
Also maintanance is a million times easier, I can change brake pads or discs in about 10 minutes, not so with drum brakes. So if you race you will want this since you go through pads a lot faster.
