im getting a new Alpine deck which has a new feature called Time correction. with that, you can delay the sound coming from the speakers that are closer to you, so i guess length issue won't be a problem to the driver, but ur passenger might go freak.

 

Time allignment is nothing new, but it's another bandaid for incorrect speaker placement. You will love it, and yes your passengers will freak out.
