Default stereo problem!

hey guys, this project is becoming more of a promlem then enjoyment.

I installed my head unit, Alpine 7874, anyways, the thinkg wouldnt work with the sub, I did what morning said, got a relay, then wired it up to the remote wire going to the sub. It worked beautifully, for about a week.

Now this mornin when I turn the stereo on, it started to go on and off really fast, and I couldnt turn it off, all I hear is the relay going on and off, when I ungrounded the relay the stereo worked fine (without sub).

I used my friend relay too same thing happened. What happened all of a sudden?

theoretically it should have worked just by running the blu/white wire to the sub and solid blue to the power antena remote, but it wouldnt work, the sub would go off like 10 min after playing and the power antena wouldnt go up.

When I used a relay, it worked for a week, no it just makes everything go on and off every 1/2 sec. (really fast)

I don't know what is going on. this is my setup maybe someone can help me out.

Alpine 7874/ Alpine s603 Changer/ Rockford 400W amp

Head unit is hooked up with an adaptor, I matched all colors, all the connections are good. There are 2 remote wires, one for amp one for antena, both are connected to the right one. There is a 12v relay on the remote goin to the amp, the relay gets the power from the yellow wire (friend said to use that as power.)

Also, the yello wire came with a filter, (friend said not to use it, so i cut it off)

btw my friend is a pro car audio guy, he just moved to SC so he can't help me out.

well, first off... alpine puts that filter there for a reason... dont cut it off...

you dont need a relay for the remote turn on wire... ive seen alpine decks turn on 5 amps without a relay and it worked fine.

try taking the relay out, wire the remote turn on direct... check all your connections (this tends to be a very common problem), especially the amp GROUND WIRE, both at the amp and where its grounded.

if all else fails... try a different deck (go to where you bought it from, and see if the'll swap it, or at least let you try a different one)
