Default Ok, my problem all squeezed into one thread(shifting problem)

Ok, I have a hard time shifting while moving on say the highway..

1. The problem started after leaving the Wal-Mart parking lot, the problem wasn't there when I pulled in, when I pulled out of the parking lot it started.

2. When cruising I have to use A LOT of force to get the shifter into gear from 1st all the way through 5th. I only have a hard time while moving fast though.

3. If I'm idling the shifter goes through the gears fine, even if I shift each gear at 5 grand it's ok.

4. I checked my tranny fluid, it was low about a quart. I filled it back up and it's peachy. But the problem still remains.

5. The clutch and tranny make NO odd noises at all, the gears don't grind, the tranny doesn't sound scratchy or whinny.

6. Once I pop the shifter into the gear all is fine, no bogging, scrapping, rpm fluctuating, rpm dropping, or increasing.

Does anyone got an idea?! Even a clue?!

it might have something to do with your shifter bushings go under the car and check for any binding on the linkage.

yeah, i would check all around the shift linkage, mainly where it connects to the transmission. does the clutch pedal fell any different?

Nope clutch is the same. My shiftlinkage came fucked up with the swap, they put the stablizer bar under the oil pan and it bent it. I bent it back on the door hinge of a dumpster we had when we were remodeling. It's always been kind of tough to get it into 5th and reverse but nothing like this.

Well after a nice chat with Outxider I ended up buying an Exedy stage 1 organic clutch and exedy 9.5lb flywheel. So far 4 people said it was either my pressure plate or clutch including outxider, and I've been wanting a new clutch anyway. When that shit comes in in like a week or something I'll put that on.

i don't see how on earth it could be your clutch disk / pressure plate / or flywheel causing you to have a hard time transfering between gears when your clutch is Dis-engaged.

i would have to say your shift linkage is either jacked up or something INside your transmission!

one other thing that it could be.. if you had a shit ton of air in your clutch line & when u pess the pedal.. it doesn't dis-engauge your clutch & your basicly shifting without the use of the clutch without attempting to rev-match your gears.

Yeh, it could be my shift linkage, but how could my shiftlinkage be fine at say a red light, but all fuckered up while moving?

EDIT: I checked the bushings there all good. I can't see anything past the bitch pin though because it's overcast here and the tranny is in the way, so I might just have to feel around.

To describe my problem a wee bit better, the shifter moves around fine, it lines up with the gear slots fine, smoothly, ITS THEN that it has a hard time, like if I'm going to shift from 1st to 2nd, it goes 1/2 way into 2nd then I have to pop it in.

sounds to me like the clutch just isn't dis-engaging as it should with the pressure from the pedal.. mgiht want to check your clutch master cylinder & slave cylinders out.

i'm willing to bed that if you were to rev-match your gears perfectly it would slide right in there..
