Auxillary lighting electrical problem
Ok imagine your typical cheap driving light wiring diagram, with a relay and switch and a wire to an ignition source to shut off the lights when the car is off.
My problem is this. I want to have the lights shut off when I turn the headlights on. In order to do this I got a 5 pin relay thinking I could use it to acheive this goal.
I put the relay after the first relay. I tapped the headlight wire and ran it to 86 on the relay. 85 was ground. 30 was from the 12 volt. 87A was going to the driving lights. The other 87 was not used. My problem is this: The auxillary lamps wouldnt work at all. The switch for them (which is before this relay) was illuminated, but no power to the lights.
Solve this. How do I have my driving lights on when the headlamps are off, but off when the headlamps are on
