this is MY OPINION.

if that is it for your system, i would just get a 1 farad cap and forget the new alternator.

if you are planning on getting another amp, such as a 4ch amp, i would definitly get a stronger alternator.

but in both cases, if you have the money, get a stronger alternator.

i would suggest a rebuilt alternator for high current amps. How many amps does the amp draw? how much amerage doed the alternator put out? if ur alt puts out about 60 amps and your amp needs 90... time for a rebuild!
rebuilt alts should cost about 150, and is much more effective. However, increasing the amperage output tends to make you lose HP.

one more thing, is that amp a class d amp?

Holy crap!! That's some major draw there. I'm thinking that's maximum draw though. What I would do is hook everything up first, see if you have a major dimming problem, and then work on a solution.

A re-wound alternator would be nice, but does cost more...

well, i found a local place that can hook me up with a 175AMP alt. They will install, and upgrade all the necessary wires. Include, a 6 month warranty.

Including taxes and everything, should come out to.....

$950!!!!!

i think i might do it in sept.h:
