the solara has never really been a "sports coupe."

There is no question about Hondas being all riced out.... Im not saying everyone, but hondas are pretty much known for that.

And saying toyota is the buick of japan... that isnt an insult at all for toyota. Although the quality is not Buick like in any way.

I know Toyota is far superior to Buick in quality, but the point that they make mushy handling and bland looking cars has been discussed in HAN many times. The Camry is almost an exact copy in terms of vehicle dynamics as a Buick LeSabre. The Solara is a very good basis for a sports/touring coupe. A stiffer suspension and real manual transmission would make it a viable option to the Accord 6x6. But they choose to appeal to the softer side of life.

Bland styling is all subjective....... The camry is not as soft etc.. as a Buick LeSabre.

:eh:

Talking about Buick quality, it scores higher than Honda or Toyota on this list:

http://www.motortrend.com/features/news/112_news34/

Buick is only topped by premium brands such as Lexus, Cadillac, Infinity and Acura. :chuckles:

If I added my own response to JD Power about my 03' Coupe EX problems, Honda may go down a lil bit more...

Look at the source..... Motor Trend is about the last souce I trust for anything in the automotive world. They gave their car of the year to the Ford T-Bird for Pete's sake. Their mag reads like a children's book, while C&D and R&T are thrilling novels. MT is Detroit biased and they don't objectively review cars. I don't even bother reading their stuff anymore.

Buick im sorry...is not equal to lexus... lexus scored 76 on the latest JD power and ass. problems per 100 vehicles... and Buick was far more than that. And even if Buick was # 1... its still made by GM, which doesnt do it in my books.

had a 6th gen accord. full of clutch and electrical problems from teh beginning. Just bought a 7th gen accord. Radio already died, rear window leaking.

Owned a 93 Previa, never took it in for a tune up still going strong at 170k. have a 00 camry, not one problem.

I'm speaking completely from my own experience. Honda doesn't have what it takes to compete w/ toyota when it comes to reliability.
