that is definately true.... But i feel toyota owners are more understanding that each car has its own personality, and none are the same... and recognize the true virtues of both toyotas and hondas. Unlike many people with biased opinions around here.

Default 2004 Solara vs. 2003 Accord Coupe

I'll take the Accord, I think the 2004 Solara looks ugly. As a matter of Fact the 2003 ES 300, Camry looks ugly too. So does the RX 330.

Lexus Es 300 has a white circle in the tail lights, this is white I call a tumor.

The Camry has that bulging headlight, this is what I call Gold Fish eyes.

Toyota is dropping the ball big time. They don't offer a manual on any trim level of the new Solara. That eliminates part of the market before they even show up at a Toyota dealership. The Accord's standard stick shift on all 4 cylinders already appeals to a more broad audience. Then to make a six speed available on the V6 just wipes the Solara out of competition. The Solara is a good car for those who just want to drive and look good. Unfortunately, it can never be a real driver's car. Come to think of it, outside of Cellica and MR2, does Toyota make a reasonable performance coupe anymore?

the accord coupe is now the replacement for the Prelude. The solara was never desgined to be of such vehicle. So it really doesn't kick people away by not offering the 6 spd. Most buyers would be just fine with a 4spd auto. A 5spd sequential is more than expected IMO. Toyota offering a 6spd tranny on the solara would just bring more of a variety of vehicle buyers... and not too many people are looking for a 6spd in a toyota.

thats the best way i can put it.

i don't think the new solara is "sleek" in any way. its all curvy here and there. the body doesn't even flow together. it looks like they just slapped different body panels of other cars and said 'that's it, this is how the new solara will look.'

I have seen the coupes with the underbody kit----and I have had photos sent to me from dealerships of snapshots taken of the Accord two door (03) with the kits put on, the car tinted out, rear wing slapped on, full treatment....I STILL hold that this new car looks like weak ass compared to previous generations, and especially compared to just other vehicles competing with it....has anyone seen the new GTO from GM's excitement division? This thing blows the Accord coupe right into the trees in terms of design, and, what, you gonna tell me the GTO is not going to compete with the likes of Solara and Accord? Pontiac clearly states this is their mid size sport coupe offering replacing the Grand Prix two door....

I wasnt analyzing performance/reliability; this was strictly from a design perspective...IMO, the 03 Accord looks like "weak ass" when you look at it next to the likes of the GTO and even the Solara; even look at the sedan next to the likes of the 300M, Bonneville SSEi, or the new Grand Prix...its like night and day. But thats just my opinion.
