Default 94 Accord help!

Have had this 94 accord lx for couple years now. recently the valves started making alot of noise and they seem to be clicking very loud. when i acclerate, i can hear them inside the car. i work at a Autozone and when i showed it to my manager, he said there wasn't enough oil pressure to the head. The car has about 89k miles and i saw that few weeks ago, the coolant was leaking around the oil pan area so the timing belt and water pump needs to be changed. And also a oil is leaking under the car and side of the engine. how hard is it to change those two? can the timing belt/waterpump cause the low oil pressure? would i be better off selling the car or replacing new belt/pump and maybe swap a new cyclinder head because of the loud clicking? how hard would it be to change the head? any help would be appreciated.

Have you been changing oil regularly? First thing you need to do is get ahold of a manual oil psi gauge and check what the psi is. Then if oil psi seems ok. I would check the valve lash if its adjustable. My 94 accord is and I done it when I put the waterpump and timing belts on it. I also remember egr passages pluggin up on these 4cyl motors and causing a ping detanation sound when you accelerate pretty easy to fix with a hanger and some sockets.

The water pump is kind of a chore, mine took me about 2hrs but I have done alot of them. 2.2l vtec has 2 timing belts, they have to be removed to replace the water pump. I would toss on a new valve cover gasket, and maybe have the mechanic change the oil seals on the crankshaft front seal, camshaft seal, and intermediate shaft seal (had one these come loose after I insalled it) thought was my fault so I fixed for free for customer found out later there was a tsb which is a plate that keeps the seal from coming off. Timing belt water pump wont cause low oil psi.

Well if it has low oil psi more than likely your lower end is gone be weak. Take and have the oil psi checked. Changing the head is pretty easy if you have done a few. I am thinking of stuffing a 97 Accord 3.0v6 into my 94 accord soon as i get a few measurements and find info about it. I cant pass up a wrecked 97accord sport for cheap.

check your main gasket. If that's gone bad (maybe from overreving or overheating, might have been related to the coolant issue)...then that's the cause of your leaks and loss of pressure

Just a thought..

thanks for the replys guys. ever since i got this car, ive been putting synthetic oil in there and changing the oil every 3000-3500 miles. but it looks like NOW that the guy who had it before me drove this car really rough...maybe 6-8k miles per oil change because i see oil leaks all around under the car and even by the starter, dist, by the exhaust manifold. i thought the oil that was leaking the most (around the oil pan) was the oil pan gasket, but now im doubting that too. i dont know how the oil got to dist or the starter but it seems like its coming from somewhere. oil level seems fine and oil light has never come on. but i know the light works since the light comes on when the ignnition is on ON position. i have not checked the oil pressure with a gauge but i probably have one at the autozone and maybe over the weekend ill check it. but if the oil is below the pressure, what are my first precautions and where should i begin to start tracing? my accord is a LX and non v-tec. its a 2.2L F22B2 and i dont know if i can adjust the valves because in the Haynes manual it says i can but then some people said i shouldnt even touch it. but at the moment im ready to get the water pump, timing belt, and the head changed. i know a guy really well who does this stuff for living and he said he'll do the belt and pump for $200 labor plus my parts. should i go ahead and let him do it? thanks again for all your help guys. appreciate it.

It should be in the FAQ or DTC section with diagrams. search for it.

Not sure how loud it is, but some valvetrain noise is normal. I could very much hear my valves ticking from inside the car when my engine was cold in my 96 Accord. Once it was at full operating temp, it usually just had a slight tap at idle. Had a valve adjustment done, but didn't notice any difference. The F-series engines are very mechanical sounding.
