Yep, that's a pet-peave of mine too..."ebay intakes" etc. EBAY DOESN'T MAKE INTAKES! lol.
you know me schmiddy, if a part costs more than another one but yields more power, however small the power gain is, i'll get it because i want the best one. and in intakes, when u're talking 3 or 4 hp difference on a part that you're lucky to get 8hp out of, that's a big difference. if a pipe and a filter make 3-4 and my V2 makes 6-8 that's twice the power for less than twice the cash, it was worth the money. and i agree with you on the "ebay intakes" thing. when people say "ebay intakes" i think about the generic backyard intake companies. i know ebay sells brand name stuff but the guy didn't ask about name brand stuff bought on ebay. he was talkin about cheap stuff.

im not trying to be difficult, you're just too stupid to understand what im trying to tell you. doesn't make me any difference either way, i have an intake already. im trying to stop people like you from giving people like the guy that started this thread bad information.

So calling him stupid isn't "being difficult"? lol.

Well how do you know that you aren't passing on bad information by saying that an AEM intake will give twice as much power than a similiarly designed generic.

I know this arguement can go on forever...and there is really no point, but like I've said in the past...a dyno test in the real world with the different intakes is really the only way to show what gains you are getting.

Personally, I don't worry about it, because the gains are so small it's negligible imo. I had an AEM CAI for a week, took it off because the stock intake performed better at low RPM (day to day driving in my world) and sound of the AEM was obnoxious. I'd be one thing if all that noise was accompanied with a "whoosh" of power, but when the car actually feels more sluggish with the intake on, it was embarassing to me lol.

i test both intake, my current non brand $50 from ebay intake and a aem intake using same filter. only diff, is the aem sounds better at higher rpm. now i pick the best choice personally for my car. going back to stock intake which it has a tag price of $700 before tax from the dealer.
I feel like my car is more smooth and perform better with the stock intake.thats me

you keep referring to the original AEM intake. i agree with you, that one did suck. that's why i waited for the V2. the original lost power low, and gained a little up top. the V2 gains throughout the entire powerband. different intakes make different gains.

I hope that you don't mean that you paid $700 for a new OEM intake system.

I had a Generic intake on my last Accord which was 6th gen, Now I have a K&N typhoon on my 7th gen. The only difference I felt is the Sound, The K&N sounds rough at High RPMs but sounds good at Lows.
I decided to paint the Pipe and I did 3 thick coatings of paint and now People ask me if I have a turbo. It sounds heavier and bolder after I painted it.
There is ofcourse a difference between the Generic and Branded intakes we cannot deny but its just a little bit, 2 maybe be 3 horsies.
Rule of the thumb! Generics are basicaly Replicas of the Original or Branded

Wow you paid a lot...why didn't you just save your old one or buy one from someone that put an aftermarket one on? They always go for cheap. Hell, I threw mine out because I couldn't fit it in my car coming home from college haha.
