You were correct on your second point about air flow but dead wrong on your first point. 'cold air' intake is a marketing ploy...the difference in air temperature between an OEM intake and a 'cold air' intake is very little. The actual temperature of the air does make quite a bit of difference in the performance of the engine, but unless you're going to hook your AC condensor up to it there won't be much of a difference from getting a 'cold air' intake. Resonance length and air flow (similarily, the shape of the tube as well) are what make some aftermarket intakes perform better than OEM intakes, although most OEM intakes already have the length correct. This is why short rams on the J30A1 produce more power than CAIs.

Pretty much the pipe bends will be the same becuase it has to fit in the engine bay

FYI: ebay doesnt sell intakes, the sellers on ebay sell intakes. so there isnt an intake that is branded "ebay"

that doesn't mean shit. there's lots of ways to bend a pipe to fit it in the engine bay. they wont all be the same, and just because they'll all fit the same engine bay doesn't mean the pipe bends/diameters flow as efficiently as others.

well, assuming that the material and type of bend are the same...then yea, the bends are the same.

well no shit. that's the definition of "the same." that still doesn't mean that every intake made to fit an engine bay has the same bends or material.

I know you are dead set on AEM intakes advertising, but you gotta admit that a generic pipe with similiar diameter and halfway similar bends with a K&N or similiar filter is going to perform the same as an AEM. It's physics, not the brand that gets more air into the motor. And even then...what's the arguement...a couple hp that an intake is going to give you anyway, no biggie.

I know you'll argue this, but oh well lol.
